Does Lingora® inhibit the growth of P. gingivalis?

Porphyromonas gingivalis is an oral pathogen and is related to gum disease (periodontitis).
P.gingivalis secretes powerful enzymes that are capable of degrading multiple substrates and is considered to be one of the most harmful oral bacteria. 

Lingora inhibits P. gingivalis growth in laboratory studies.

How does Lingora® compare with chlorhexidine (CHX) based mouthwash products?

Lingora® is 100% natural and does not contain any chemicals, additives or preservatives. 

Its fruity, mild flavour is well received amongst patients with symptoms such as burning mouth syndrome and mouth ulcers. CHX based products often leave a bitter metallic aftertaste which may not be desirable for patients suffering from oral sensitivity. 

Lingora contains only two ingredients, wild Arctic lingonberry and water, and is harmless if swallowed. CHX based products are poorly absorbed in the gastrointestinal tract and can cause stomach irritation or nausea.

Lingora’s antimicrobial properties treat the bad bacteria while preserving the beneficial bacteria whereas CHX is antiseptic and does not selectively kill only harmful bacteria but can also eliminate beneficial bacteria. 

Unlike CHX, Lingora does not cause discolouration of teeth and can be consumed on a daily basis for as long as preferred.


Why is the Lingora® dosage 10 ml twice a day?

Based on clinical studies, using Lingora® twice daily for a period of up to two weeks provides the most effective treatment for acute oral health issues, such as oral yeast infections and gingivitis.


Is Lingora® effective if taken only once a day?

For continuous use, 10 ml once a day is sufficient.


Should Lingora® be taken before or after brushing teeth?

Lingora® should be taken after brushing teeth.


When can you eat or drink after taking Lingora®?

For optimal results, allow Lingora® to settle for 30 minutes before eating or drinking.


Does Lingora® stain teeth?

Lingora® does not stain teeth. The anthocyanins it contains may temporarily colour the mucous membranes and tongue, just like other berries - this is harmless.


Can a person who is pregnant or breastfeeding use Lingora®?

A person who is pregnant or breastfeeding, please seek advice from a healthcare practitioner before use.
Due to the fermentation process Lingora may contain traces of alcohol, < 0.5%. Since Lingora® is spat out, alcohol absorption is minimal. 


Can children use Lingora®?

Lingora is safe and suitable for all ages. 
For children under 36 months, please seek advice from a healthcare practitioner before use.


What happens if Lingora® is swallowed?

Due to Lingora’s all-natural, chemical free formula, it is harmless if swallowed. 


Can Lingora® be used in conjunction with other medication?

Yes, it can. Lingora does not interfere or conflict with other medication. 


Where are the Lingora® lingonberries sourced from?

The lingonberry juice used in Lingora® is sourced from Finnish juice manufacturers.


How is Lingora® made?

  1. The manufacturing process can be broken down to the following step.
  2. Hand-picking wild grown lingonberry in forests of Finland
  3. Harvest is cleaned and processed into lingonberry juice
  4. Fermentation process to reduce natural occurring sugars of lingonberry
  5. Pasteurising fermented lingonberry juice
  6. Multi-cycle filtration to remove yeasts and sediment of the berry
  7. Diluting fermented lingonberry juice
  8. Hot-filling and packaging


How is the quality and consistency of Lingora® batches validated?

The production process is patented and standardised, and the composition of raw materials and the final product is monitored for each batch.
